This is the late Pimp C‘s new single off his new album “The Naked Soul of Sweet Jones” in stores everywhere on October 5th. I absolutely love this beat and actually fell in love with the leaked version by Lil Wayne and Pimp C (via Nah Right). It’s produced by none other than Boi-1da. But this right here is fire! Check it out below…. Aubrey kills it, as usual.

Audio: Diddy/Dirty Money ft. Drake – Loving You No More

Listen to Diddy/Dirty Money‘s new single featuring Drake off their upcoming Last Train To Paris LP due out some time. The single is called Loving You No More and it’s pretty much the same thing that leaked last year in November (only mixed x mastered). I thought they would of used a new verse like the one on Do It All, which was a verse for Diddy. Either way and as always, enjoy! Take that, take that.

Yesterday was Aaliyah‘s 9th anniversary of her tragic death. Knowing Drake and his love for the late R&B princess, he wrote a guest blog/letter on RapRadar.com to share his thoughts, something touching.

RIP Babygirl.

Dear Dana,

I’ve never lost a parent, a friend, or a lover but I will never forget this day for the rest of my life. I remember getting the news that you had passed and it connected with my heart like a clean shot from Muhammad Ali. I was crushed. Not only was I one of your biggest fans but I was truly in love with you. I loved the way you carried yourself, the way you dressed, the confidence with which you addressed passion and relationships in your music. I said to myself that even if we never met, I wanted a woman in my life just like you. I am pained that we will never get to connect now that music ended up being my career path. But you should know, we all listen to you everyday and we remain inspired and moved by all that you’ve given the world. I hope I make the right life choices so I can end up in heaven where I know you rest your head. I’ll continue to make music in your honor until the day we finally meet. Dinner’s on me!

Love you always and forever,

Drake

Anthony Mandler Speaks on Lil Wayne’s Absence Complicating the “Miss Me” Shoot

It wasn’t shot the way I would have shot it,Anthony Mandler says of Lil Wayne footage shot before he came onboard as director. Hey, the video came out great regardless! MTV News says:

Drake’s “Miss Me” video is the third project between the rapper and director Anthony Mandler (Jay-Z, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige), following their work together on the Toronto star’s “Over” and “Find Your Love.”

According to Mandler, he and Drake are establishing an aesthetic via their collaborations. Mandler said that “Over” was about re-establishing Drake visually and “Find Your Love” was intended to make Drake the lead in an anti-love story.

With “Miss Me,” however, the director said the video was a particular challenge because co-star Lil Wayne’s footage was shot prior to Mandler coming onboard.

“It wasn’t shot the way I would have shot it,” Mandler explained to MTV News. “So I had to come up with a world where I had ultimate control. I think with Drake, we’re always looking for overarching themes. We’re always looking for bigger themes to hang our hat on. With ‘Miss Me,’ what was interesting to me was not the idea of ‘miss me because Wayne was gong to jail.’ Because it was deeper than that. It was the attainability verses the unattainability. And how stars and people who are public figures are expected to sit on a platform and be grabbed and watched and photographed and controlled.

Here’s another reference track and it’s funny because you can tell it was done for a girl. Can you guess who? One thing’s for sure is that I liked the beat on the original leak; it’s more “hype”. Lisssssteeeennn.

Ayyyyy papi!

While on a little break in Capcana, Dominican Republic a couple weeks ago, Drake sat down for an impromptu performance from a local band Bocatabu. He seemed pretty impressed with the track & even said he might have to borrow a line from the song one day. Check out some pics of Drake & the group below!

Here are some behind the scene pictures of Drake where he channels Frank Sinatra in a VMA promo. Drake recently told MTV that he likes to get into characters. Well, he sure did a good job. Don’t forget that he will perform at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12th @ 9pm. Enjoy!
